Long Overdue

It's been quite awhile since I've last posted as it's been pretty busy around here.

Allan has been working so hard on getting ready for basic training. He's been spending most of his time going to the gym and buffing up to be a big bad Navy man and studying. I'm so proud of him! Today also marks his 9 weeks until he leaves for basic training. I'm so excited for him to start this new adventure, but at the same time, I'm going to miss him like crazy!

Next, we had planned on getting married at the end of July, but that plan has been changed. Allan's position was hard enough to get that any change in his statuses, like dependency, would probably cause him to lose his position. We both agreed that his career is obviously more important than getting married right now. We're looking more towards November when he graduates from basic training. We're hoping he can come home after graduation since they give a 2-week break or so and have our wedding here. If he can't leave it looks like we'll be getting married in Chicago, which isn't too bad.  My mom and sister-in-law are planning my bridal shower anyway so I'm pretty excited for that. I have no input on the planning so it should be fun to see what they put together.

My birthday was a couple weeks ago and I seriously could not have had a better birthday!

Allan woke up before me and made me breakfast which I got to eat in bed and he went out to buy me flowers. What a sweetheart! We wasted some time at the mall so I could use my giftcard my parents had gotten me. I got 5 new books which is a pretty big thing to me. After that we met up at his uncle's house and went up to San Fransisco for the Giants game that his other aunt and uncle had bought for all of us. They're such amazing people, I mean, look at how close we were to the field!

They also brought birthday hats to wear on top of our Giants hats, everyone got a kick out of them.

It was an amazing game and we kicked butt! I haven't screamed so loud since I was a cheerleader! We went out to Denny's after that and we can home so I could fall asleep after a wonderful day. What a way to turn 20!
